What?!?! What do you mean moved?
Well, my wonderfully devoted readers, who continue to read even though these happen to get a little far apart and tend to be totally random words thrown together… let me explain.
This wordpress blog started out as a challenge… to write every day for one full year about whatever the given theme was for that month. Although I did NOT post every single day, it still became a part of my life that felt completely natural. I don’t ever forget that I have a blog, and every time something happens that makes me laugh or want to punch someone in the face, the first thought I have is “I should blog about this”. Of course, then I forget all about it if I don’t write it down.
Now I have several different blogs that I have not become as fond of as this one, all of which are just sitting idle.
There have been several things I wanted to do with this blog. However, after nearly pulling out all of my hair every single time I want to make changes and spend an hour or so trying to figure out how, I find out that I do not have the control I want with my own blog.
There aren’t enough templates to choose from that allow me to find exactly what I want. If I owned my domain, I would have a little more freedom. Alas, that’s not yet the case. I love how easy it is to find the blog stats and all that, since it loads as soon as I log in, but other than that, I just haven’t been thrilled with the site itself.
I have now moved over to blogger. Something I tried out before WordPress but decided against. Now, it is becoming my best friend. I have all the freedom I want without having to pay an additional cost. I have found some of the most amazing blog theme providers, the top of my list being ShabbyBlogs, and I just couldn’t be happier with the designs I have chosen.
To add to my excitement, or perhaps more like a big reason why I decided to move, is how easy it is to use AdSense. I recently decided to start a new blog for the items I post on Etsy, so with the traffic I hope to gain, that will certainly be beneficial.
And honestly, I just think blogger is about a million times more user friendly.
Also, about the whole “I don’t yet own my domain” thing… I should mention that freshoffthepress.com is actually already taken. Besides, there are several blogger and wordpress blogs that have used that title, even with different URLs. So my title on the new blog has changes. It’s now something that has never been used.
Elicea’s Blog (hello, world!)
Obviously my name is so unique that it is unlikely there is another blog with that same name AND same exact spelling. So, eliceasblog.com is available and will be owned by me, tomorrow, as well as polysbakery.com. woohoo!
So, all of that being said, I’m super excited about the changes and hope you are, too. When you get a second, check out ShabbyBlogs for your own fun. In the meantime, head on over to the new blog and leave a comment! And for those of you who are currently subscribed to this blog, and even those who are, make sure you subscribe there!
See you on the other side, World!
